Loving Others
Once we have re-established a loving relationship with ourselves, we can start to look at our relationships with others. The most important ingredient in any of these relationships is, of course, LOVE.
Love is a beautiful word. It conjures up images of light, warmth and security; it brings to mind passion, sex, romance, babies, hugs and cuddles. Wonderful stuff. In this section, I'd like to consider the effect love has on our lives and look at ways we can overcome that great barrier to love, which is FEAR.
Fear is not such a great word - it suggests something dark and foreboding; it conjures up violence, pain and panic. Why would we want these things in our lives when we could have love instead? You might as well argue that we don't look for fear and that it is caused by outside forces. You're right, in some cases it is. If you are attacked or your country is at war, you have every reason to be fearful. But millions of people face fear in their lives every single day, fear they have created for themselves.
I would like to introduce you to some ways in which we can move towards a fear-free life - a life filled with love. I have used thses methods personally, along with many other normal people who have sought to live a lighter and more easy-going style of life in which they are in control and not their fears. We shall also be looking at ways we can use our love and the boundless supply of love in the universe to help others.
Unconditional Love.
The love that I want us to fill our days with, and be our predominant emotion, is unconditional love. The definitions of unconditional love are set out below.
Unconditional love is loving :
- Without Judgement
- Without controlling
- Without possessing
- Without demands.
Unconditional love is :
- Total acceptance
- Care
- Patience
- Respect
- Tenderness
- Compassion
- Kindness
Unconditional love is the greatest gift you can give to anyone, including yourself.
Remember that you can only change yourself. You are only responsible for yourself and you can only work on yourself. The changes in your attitude and energies will affect others.
